bioNanotechnology, which is the technological developments on the nanometer scale, usually in the range of 0.1 to 100 nm (1/1,000 µm, or 1/1,000,000 mm), is being emphasized due to their potential benefit world-wide. Today, nanotechnology is being applied in many significant areas including health care, energy, agriculture and many more.
The Thai government had recognized the advantage of nanotechnology and, therefore, The National Nanotechnology Center, Thailand, (NANOTEC) was established on August 13, 2003 as an agency under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Ministry of Science and Technology.
NANOTEC focuses on supporting and encouraging the nanotechnological development of the country through research innovations and technology transfer.
Several governmental agencies are involved in funding R & D in Science and Technology are as follows:
